ESH Gallery focuses its artistic research on the dialogue between East and West presenting artists who work on the indistinguishable border between sculpture and contemporary craft
Established in 2014, ESH Gallery is a contemporary art gallery former member of the Italian Modern and Contemporary Gallery Association. Based in the lively neighbourhood of Tortona, heart of the Milano Design Week, the gallery is unique in its genre in Italy. Esh Gallery focuses its artistic research on Italian and international authors who work on the indistinguishable border between sculpture, contemporary craft and one-off designs through materials such as ceramic, glass, metal and other unconventional organic materials like paper or Japanese lacquer. In this context, ESH Gallery’s desire is to guide the public on a path towards a new dialogue between the tradition of decorative arts and contemporary aesthetics.
The themes of nature, space and time, declined into the principles of oriental aesthetics, are the focus of the gallery’s exhibition program. It is constantly enriched thanks to partnerships with various international realities and thus making it possible to introduce young emerging artists and masters from the Far East to the public.
ESH Gallery has organized around forty exhibitions in the gallery, exhibition spaces, and museums, ten printed publications and catalogue, over thirty participations in prestigious international art fairs, and two contemporary ceramics auctions, the first to be held in Italy. Among its most successful exhibitions are Urushi_ism, Japan in Black and White, Transience by Akio Niisato, Green Mars Architecture for the Israeli Pavilion at Expo Milan 2015, Blanc de Chine, Japanorama, and Surface Tensions. It has participated in art fairs such as Paris Asia Now, London Collect, Art Genève, Art Montecarlo, The Others Turin, and Unfair Milano.
Celebrating its tenth year, ESH Gallery has embarked on a new course, dedicating itself to exploring the most cutting-edge forms of dialogue between East and West.
